Esso Supports Craft Exhibition of Bangsai Art and Crafts Centre

His Excellency Privy Councilor Tanin Kraivixien as vice president of the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen (SUPPORT), Bangsai Arts and Crafts Centre, cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the recent Bangsai Exhibition of Craft Masterpieces at Life Style Hall, Siam Paragon Complex in Bangkok. Bangsai SUPPORT Centre, one of Her Majesty the Queen’s initiatives, is aimed to enhance Thai intellectual heritage particularly handicrafts while improving villagers’ income and their quality of life. Well-known in Thailand and abroad for its highlighted collection of handicrafts, crafts training to poor farmers, the training center also serves as a tourist attraction.
Esso has realized the need for human skill development to improve the rural standard of living and appreciated Thai art and culture conservation. The company, therefore, has been supporting the foundation in many projects including the renovation of the outdoor visibility of “Sala Pra Ming Kwan,” the pavilion of the centre, in 2005 and 2006. In 2007, Esso gave a 500,000-baht contribution to Bangsai SUPPORT Centre to organize two exhibitions at Siam Paragon; the first one was held in August 2007 and the second one in April 2008. In 2008, the company supported another 500,000 baht for developing media materials to promote activities of the SUPPORT’s Bangsai Arts and Crafts Centre on television.
