Esso Supports 29th CU Marine Science Camp

Mongkolnimit Auacherdkul (back row, 3rd left), director and public affairs manager, Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, presented a 100,000-baht check to Prof. Dr. Supot Hannongbua (back row, 4th left), dean of CU Faculty of Science, to support the 29th marine science camp, “Global Warming and Heated Sea.” The presentation ceremony was recently held at the conference room, the Faculty of Engineering, CU.
Organized by the Marine Science Club, the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, the 7-day program was aimed at providing knowledge on global warming and its effect on the sea of Thailand to the youth. The program consisted of a full day of classroom lectures at the Faculty of Science, and a field trip and marine study activities at Ang-Sila Marine Life Research Center and Ko Sichang Marine Science Center in Chon Buri.
Realizing the importance of environmental conservation, Esso has supported the Marine Science Camp since 1980. The program has been successful in enhancing awareness on marine ecology as well as the need for conservation and restoration of marine lives among the target group. Participants are selected from interested high school students nationwide.
