Esso Supports Fund for Facilities Addition to a Skills Enhancement Center in Laem Chabang Area

Mr. Mongkolnimit Auacherdkul (3rd left), Director and Manager for Public & Government Affairs of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, presented a cheque for 300,000 Baht to Ms. Sunida Chittanond (3rd right), Director for Rural Development for the Population and Community Development Association (PDA) to provide additional facilities for the Skills Enhancement Center for Women and Girls which is part of the “Sustainable Development for Women in Efficiency, Transparency and Happiness” project. The Center will provide fundamental knowledge for skills enhancement and job opportunities to women in 10 communities around the Laem Chabang Area.

The Population and Community Development Association (PDA) has been selected to establish the program in coordination with Esso and its Sriracha Refinery. Activities completed to date include a community-needs survey, assessment of required skills, alignment with community members, liaison with local government as well as finding the right source for training. The project will be completed by the end of 2010.
