Esso Supports 31st CU Marine Science Camp

Mr. Mongkolnimit Auacherdkul (front row, 2nd right), Director and Manager for Public & Government Affairs, Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, presented a 100,000-baht check to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vimolvan Phimpan (front row, 3rd left), Associate Dean for Management Affairs, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University (CU), to support the University’s 31st marine science camp.
The camp will be organized by the Marine Science Club, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University for 7 days from 9-16 October 2010. Its objectives are to promote awareness of marine ecology as well as the need for conservation of marine life along the coast of Thailand among participating students. Key activities will include a full day of classroom lectures at the Faculty of Science, a field trip to Kung Krabaen Bay Marine Development Center and mangrove forest planting at Chantaburi province.
Recognizing the importance of the environmental conservation and student volunteer activities, Esso has supported the Marine Science Camp since 1980 to enhance youth leadership skills in community development and environmental conservation.
