Esso Supports PDA on Development Work for Women and Children

Mr. Sorapong Vinichaikul (3rd from left), Government Relations Manager, Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, presented a contribution of 100,000 baht to Ms. Rattana Nuankaew (2nd from right), Researcher of the Research & Information Bureau of Population and Community Development Association (PDA). The contribution will be used to enhance community and social development work for women and children by the PDA as part of follow-up activities from the “ExxonMobil - Women's Economic Opportunity Initiative” program.
The Women's Economic Opportunity Initiative program is sponsored by Exxon Mobil Corporation to provide a month-long guided mentoring for middle-level management women from community organizations in various countries. The session is conducted in Washington D.C. in the U.S. As an affiliate of ExxonMobil, Esso (Thailand) Public Co., Ltd., has facilitated the selection of Thai candidates to join the program. A total of 6 Thai participants have attended this course which began in 2005. Support for the course is valued at 1 million baht for full scholarships for each participant. After the training, the participants have expanded their network internationally and enhanced their community development perspectives for the betterment of their local communities. Ms. Rattana is one of the program’s participants and is actively involved in social development activities.
