Esso Presents Rehabilitation Funds for Flood Relief via The Thai Red Cross Society

Bangkok - Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Executive Vice-President of the Thai Red Cross Society, graciously granted an audience to Mr. Z. John Atanas, Chairman and Managing Director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, and senior company executives to present a 6,494,500 baht donation to the Thai Red Cross Society to assist those affected by the widespread flooding and tragic consequences in cities and provinces across Thailand in 2011. Exxon Mobil Corporation also granted matching funds against donations by employees of Esso and ExxonMobil affiliates in Thailand to the Thai Red Cross Society to support disaster relief and long-term rehabilitation efforts.
Esso (Thailand) Public Co., Ltd. earlier donated approximately 3 million baht in supplies such as drinking water, lubricants for boats, relief boats, foods, medicines and necessary items in conjunction with various relief organizations including the Royal Thai Armed Forces, The Ministry of Energy, the media, charity foundations, affected communities, etc. Employees and their families actively took part in the relief efforts with the company.
