Esso supports educational opportunities for students in the Northeast

Khon Kaen - Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, together with participating Esso service station dealers, alliance partners, and the Esso Employee Club provided 580 students with scholarships and arranged for a science exhibition in the Buriram province as part of its corporate citizenship programs in the Northeast of Thailand.

Mr. Yodpong Sutatham, Director and Retail Sales Manager, together with Mr. Mongkolnimit Auacherdkul, Director and Manager of Public and Government Affairs, and Mr. Jirat Wongsiri, President of the Esso Employee Club, presented scholarships with a total value of 1,740,000 Baht to the students and arranged for a “Science Caravan” activity to supplement educational opportunities for students in the Northeast of Thailand.

Mr. Yodpong stated that “with collaboration from our employees and business alliance network, we have raised more than 2,700,000 Baht in donations this year. The donations were used to purchase medical equipment for local hospitals in the Khon Kaen province and provide scholarships for students in the Northeastern provinces. A total of 580 scholarships, worth 3,000-Baht each, were given to students, amounting to 1,740,000 Baht in total. The selected students have good academic performance and behavior and we hope that the scholarships will motivate them to keep pursuing their academic endeavors.”

“Apart from the scholarships, Esso, along with the National Science Museum (NSM), organized the “Science Caravan” activity for participating students, which consisted of science exhibitions and interactive science experiments aimed at providing opportunities for science learning beyond the classroom,” Mr. Mongkolnimit added.

Esso Retail Sales has organized similar social contributions and development projects since 2010 in conjunction with its service station network partners. The company’s employees, dealers, and alliance partners - including Tesco-Lotus, Rabika Coffee, and Cielo - have actively contributed to the fundraising efforts. This project is consistent with the company’s policy to enhance educational opportunities and promote science learning among students in remote areas.
