Air emissions

We seek opportunities to reduce the air emissions associated with our operations and the products we deliver to increase shareholder value and meet regulatory requirements.

As a result of these efforts, Esso Sriracha refinery’s emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) have decreased more than 60 percent over the past 10 years.

Photo — In 2015, the combined SO2, NOx and VOC emissions from our operations totaled 2.8 K- metric tons.

One example of how we have reduced emissions from our operations involves the implementation of leak detection and repair (LDAR) program, initiatives to maximize fuel gas utilization, and using Low NOx burners.
