Esso Sriracha Refinery organizes tree planting on World Environment Day occasion

Held in the compound of Esso Sriracha Refinery, the 16th Day of Caring accommodated more than 90 employees who planted a variety of perennial trees, namely Tabaek, Inthanin, Krating, Kradon, Pradu, Nonsi, Kana, Ratchaphreuk and Sela. The activity is aimed to promote natural conservation awareness and promote environment conservation

Suchart said: “This is a great opportunity to increase green areas for our refinery, making it lively. In addition, one big tree can averagely absorb 9-15 kilograms of carbon dioxide per year, so 60 trees from our contribution today, could reduce carbon dioxide up to 540-900 kilograms per year. It also helps to capture dust and air pollutants up to 80 kilograms per year.”

Day of Caring is part of Esso Sriracha Refinery’s corporate social responsibility program that promote employees volunteerism. The previous activities included cleaning mangrove at Ban Laem Chabang Community, restoring coral reef, conserving marine environment, building homes for the underprivileged with the Habitat Foundation.

Esso and ExxonMobil affiliates in Thailand provide quality fuels and lubes as well as chemical products to serve the growth of the country.  The companies emphasize on doing business operations that go along with social responsibility, while engaging, creating and supporting development in the operating communities.
