Esso and ExxonMobil in mangrove conservation with Laem Chabang Community

Employees of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited and ExxonMobil affiliates in Thailand participated in a volunteer program “Day of Caring” at the mangrove forest in joining with Laem Chabang community, Sriracha District, Chonburi province.  Activities included the releasing of fishes back to the sea, tree planting and environmental conservation campaign.

Sriracha Sheriff Niti Wiwatwanich (4th from right) joined to preside over the opening of the activity. On this occasion, the Sheriff, together with Deputy Mayor of Laem Chabang Community Thanee Kiatpipatkul (4th from left), Esso Chairman and Managing Director Jeremy R. Osterstock (3rd from left) as well as Esso Director Dr. Taweesak Bunluesin (3rd from right), jointly presented mangrove trees and fishes to leader of Ban Laem Chabang community Amporn Kotcharat (5th from left) and to the community club representatives to arrange the activities.

More than 300 people including employees of Esso and ExxonMobil affiliates in Thailand, Esso Club, together with their families, members of the Environmental Protection Volunteer Club and Ban Laem Chabang community released fishes, and planted mangrove trees as part of good deeds in honor of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s birthday.

This event is part of continuous volunteer activities organized by Esso Sriracha Refinery in cooperation with ExxonMobil affiliates in Thailand and neighboring communities which received active participation from all related parties.
