Esso and ExxonMobil present awards to winners of the first Esso Open Innovation Hackathon 

Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited and ExxonMobil Limited, together with RISE, Regional Corporate Innovation Powerhouse, held award presentation ceremony for the winners of the first Esso Open Innovation Hackathon project on June 19, 2021.

Jesada Chanchengkij (3rd from left), Esso director and retail sales manager, together with Wiriya Kosavisutte (4th from left), ExxonMobil director, Bangkok Global Business Center manager and IT manager, presented awards to three winning teams of the Esso Open Innovation Hackathon.

The wining team, Carcliq led by Wichaya Charuchinda received 250,000 baht.

The first runner-up, Micro OR led by Sakol sachdev received 150,000 baht.

The second runner-up, DND Go! led by Archrittee Thongtour received 70,000 baht.

Being the first Hackathon held by Esso, the Esso Open Innovation Hackathon was conducted online under the theme "How might we evolve Esso's offerings to maximize value for customers who look for high quality fuels and greater customer experiences in the eco-conscious era and variety of technology adoptions."

It provided opportunities for talents in various professions, ranging from interested students to startup people to find innovation to solve business problems, and present their ideas to the organizers and Esso executives. Aside from prizes, the teams will have partnership opportunities or build a business with Esso (Thailand).

The competition was divided into two rounds. In the first round, 20 teams are selected out of more than 120 pitching ideas teams. Then a shortlist of 10 teams pitched in the final round which resulted in the three winning teams: Carcliq, Micro OR and DND Go!
