Esso provides scholarships to university students in commemoration of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 60th birthday

Bangkok – Esso presented 60 scholarships totaling 600,000 baht to undergraduate students from state universities nationwide to coincide with HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 60th Birthday.

Mr. Neil A. Hansen, Chairman and Managing Director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited and Ms. Aporn Kanvong, Deputy Secretary-General of The Office of the Higher Education Commission (O.H.E.C.), jointly presided over the presentation ceremony of the Esso-Rattanakosin Bicentennial Fund.

This year, 60 scholarships (10,000 baht each) totaling 600,000 baht were awarded to students studying engineering, science, technology, energy and related fields from state universities nationwide.

In recognition of the vital importance of higher education, Esso has worked with the Office of the Higher Education Commission (O.H.E.C.) since 1982 when the Esso- Rattanakosin Bicentennial Fund was established as part of the Rattanakosin Bicentennial celebration. The company has continued to support the fund as well as a scholarship program every year since then. Approximately 1,900 scholarships have been granted to date, with a total contribution amount of more than 14 million baht.
