Esso donates EKG machine to the Nam Phong Hospital in Khon Kaen

Khon Kaen - Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, together with participating Esso service station dealers, alliance partners, and the Esso employee club donated an Electrocardiogram (EKG) machine to the Nam Phong Hospital to help improve healthcare standards among local communities in Khon Kaen

Mr. Mongkolnimit Auacherdkul, Director and Manager of Public and Government Affairs together with Mr. Yodpong Sutatham, Director and Retail Sales Manager presented the EKG machine, valued at approximately 500,000 Baht, to Dr. Vichai Usawapak, Director of Nam Phong Hospital, Nam Phong District in Khon Kaen.

“The EKG machine is a vital equipment for detecting irregularities that might lead to heart diseases and strokes. Early detection of such conditions can significantly reduce paralysis and death rates. This coincides with the policy of the Ministry of Public Health in preventing heart diseases and strokes which cause the highest death rates in Thailand. Following state policy, we are glad that a private sector company like Esso has joined our efforts in improving our healthcare standards so that we can relieve the workload from the city hospitals,” said Dr. Vichai.

Mr. Yodpong added, “Retail Sales has organized similar social contribution and development projects since 2010 in conjunction with our service station network partners. Our fellow employees, dealers, and alliance partners including Tesco-Lotus, Rabika Coffee, and Cielo have actively contributed to the fundraising efforts. Everyone involved in our service station network believes that business growth should go hand in hand with community development and we are glad to participate in improving the health standards of the communities where we operate.

Donation of an EKG machine to the Nam Phong hospital is one of the activities from this effort which has collected more than 2,700,000Baht to fund the purchase of medical equipment, provide student scholarships, and promote science learning beyond the classroom in the Northeastern provinces.
