HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn grants an audience to Esso in presenting frozen plasma truck

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, in her capacity as executive vice president of the Thai Red Cross Society, graciously granted an audience to Jeremy R. Osterstock (3rd from left), chairman and managing director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, and the management team to present a frozen plasma transportation truck for use by the Thai Red Cross Plasma Fractionation Centre.  The presentation was held at Somdej Phra Yanna Sangworn Building, the Thai Red Cross Society in Bangkok.

The Centre is the first of its kind in Thailand with the capacity to produce plasma-derived medical products for treatment of illnesses while helping save a significant amount of foreign exchange from medicine imports.

This frozen plasma transportation truck is the fourth vehicle donated by Esso following the previous 3 refrigerated blood vans delivered to the Thai Red Cross in the years 2000, 2008 and 2012 respectively.  This truck will help deliver plasma from the National Blood Center and 13 Regional Blood Centers to The Thai Red Cross Plasma Fractionation Centre which was established in honour of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn 5th Cycle Birthday Celebrations of 2nd April 2015 and located in Sriracha district, Chonburi Province.  The center will be providing products to treat those with illnesses and blood disorders at lower cost which will benefit the health of the general public.  The medical products include treatment for Hemophilia A, SLE, immune deficiency, kidney diseases, cancer, diabetes and others.
